First of the Brussels sprout crop

All quiet on the garden front recently, what with it being a generally quiet time of year n’all that, but we nipped outside to investigate the Brussels sprouts – and lo and behold, some were ready!

I’m hoping to have these with steak and chips: when I was actually in the nation of Brussels a couple of years ago, the sprouts there were remarkably tasty (not being the UK supermarket variety) and complemented the steak perfectly. Plus it’s an excuse for steak and chips…

There are still a few more plants in the garden that should supply us well over the Christmas period. I’m looking forward to these.
