Runner Beans A-Go-Go

The runner bean frame that I set up back in April has undergone something of a transformation:

We’ve harvested, steamed and enjoyed a few of the crunchy, sweet pods already. But what I absolutely love about this photo is that every single ones of those red bean flowers has the potential to grow into a runner bean pod, which should keep us in delicious beans for the rest of the summer (and then into the autumn as well, if we blanch and freeze a few bags’ worth). Lovely.
